Which one you need depends on whether you need synchronisation (ChimpySync) or if you wish to use Outlook for Mac (ChimpView).

ChimpySync is an Outlook plugin which can be installed in Outlook 2010, 2013, 2016 for Windows. (e.g. not Mac, browser or phone versions.)

ChimpySync enables the user to check whether an email sender is on a MailChimp list, and if not to subscribe the contact to the list.

Additionally ChimpySync will let the user subscribe contacts from Outlook, and synchronise MailChimp lists wit Outlook contact folders.

ChimpView is an Office 365 add-in which integrates with the most recent Outlook clients on Windows, Mac, Browser and phones.

ChimpView enables the user to check whether an email sender is on a MailChimp list, and if not to subscribe the contact to the list.

Choose ChimpySync if:

  • You want to Synchronise a list with a folderOnly ChimpySync lets you set up synchronisation.
  • You are using Outlook for WindowsChimpySync works with Windows desktop versions - Outlook 2010, 2013, 2016 .
  • You want to export Outlook Contacts ChimpySync lets you export Outlook contacts.

Choose ChimpView if:

  • You are using Outlook for MacChimpView works with Outlook 2016 for Mac, Outlook Web Browser, Outlook 2016 for Windows, Outlook for iPhone.
  • You do not need to syncChimpView does not have the ability to synchronise a list with a folder.
  • You are using Office 365ChimpView only works with Office 365 (or Exchange 2016).

Which version do I need?

I want to Synchronize Outlook to MailChimp

If you want to synchronize an Outlook contacts folder to a MailChimp list, you will need ChimpySync.

I use Outlook for Mac

If you use Outlook 2016 for Mac you can use ChimpView, but remember there is no synchronise option with ChimpView.

I use Outlook in my Web browser.

If you use a browser version of Outlook you can use ChimpView if you have office 365 or Exchange 2016, but remember there is no synchronise option with ChimpView.
